To commemorate the nations 250th birthday, the Bureau of Reclamation provided a nightly patriotic lightshow at the Hoover Dam.  Demending on wind speed, and on what seemed like rare occasions, they also hoisted a very large American flag over the dam.  On June 27th there was a fly over by the US Air Force Thunderbirds, who are based at nearby Nellis Air Force Base.
