Electrified streetcars first connected El Paso and Juarez in 1902.  Trolly infrastructure increased to 52 miles of track in the 1920's.  The final line to close was the international line continued to operate until 1974.  The downtown system resumed service in 2018 and utilizes the original refurbished carriages.
