Border Monuments 170 to 204A stretch between Yuma and Lukeville AZ (San Luis Rio Colorado and Sonoyta, Mexico). The landscapes of the Sonoran desert and Gila Mountains are some of the most beautiful in the Southwest. The Grand Altar Desert is on the southern side of the border, while the norther boundary is flanked by the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and the Cabeza Prieta Wilderness.

Despite being in the desert, dense fog was present on the hike to monument 190. Later that day the fog cleared, revealing Saguaro cactuses nearby.

Monument 198 sits high atop a peak in the Gila Mountains of Arizona. Again fog was noted upon arival, clearing as the day progressed. The border wall is evident in the background

Monument 193 appears to have been damaged by construction of the border wall. Although the wall can provide a sense of depth and "leading lines" for photographers, it also distracts from the natural beauty of this region.

191 is probably the most remote and difficult to access of all the monuments. After a vigorous hike it can be spotted. Safely reaching it requires expertise in mountaineering.
