Monument 71 not only markes the boundary between Mexico and the United States, but also the southernmost border of New Mexico and Arizona. Due to its location on the Northern side of a steep mountain, it is shaded most of the year.

Tijuana in the background. Cartel activity noted here.

BMC 51

BMC 52
Monument 253 is adjacent to the Tijuana Airport. Aircraft cross the border on their landing route.

BMC 53
For unclear reasons the construction zone around monument 254 was being guared by the Mexican Army, and a pack of stray dogs.

BMC 54

BMC 55
Unlike other monuments, 255 appears to be roughly hewn out of granite. It is not accessable to the public. It is located in a rail yard operated by the Mexican government.

BMC 56

BMC 57
Monument 257 is on a bluff overlooking San Diego, and San Diego Harbor. US Navy helicopter surveillance is frequent in this area. Monument 258 is located beside Tijuana Beach and the Pacific Ocean.
